So let's get started! The image above shows you the types of cables you need to connect your Apple iPad to a projector or interactive whiteboard. You will also need a power source.

Note that the iPad's own USB cable is not powerful enough to provide sufficient power for a full-size projector. Therefore you need to use the Apple USB power adapter or an equivalent, depending on your specific iPad model, which provides the necessary current output. The iPad has a 10 Watt charging unit and therefore needs a charger with at least this capacity or better.

Do not use the iPad's power adapter to supply power to an interactive whiteboard as it will cause its own damage. Please refer to the instructions in your interactive whiteboard manual for more details on its power requirements.

An Apple Classroom Kit or similar is also important to get your iPad set up at school. It contains a projector cable, an HDMI cable and a VGA cable which are all you need to get started. NMB Multimedia Multimedia Player can be used with your interactive whiteboard in addition to Multimedia Notebooks, Keynote presentations, PDF books and other types of files (documents). It can also be used to control presentations.
In the image above, we show you how to connect an iPad mini and an iPad 2 together, connecting a USB source to your iPad mini (left) and connecting it externally with an Apple USB power adapter (right).

Cables for connecting your Apple iPad 2: Apple USB power adapter, HDMI cable, VGA cable. . . . . . .Additional cables are available from Apple if you need them. You don't need the Apple Classroom Kit to connect these iPads together but you will need it if you want to connect an interactive whiteboard or any other type of display device.

First, you need to use the Apple USB power adapter (see image above) to connect your iPad to a power source. The USB cable also charges your iPad. Most Apple devices use an Apple USB power adapter. The magnetic connector on the end of the cable is designed for easy insertion and removal of most Apple devices (iPod Touch, iPhone, etc.) but it will fit the iPad's charging port too.
